Cambodian-American Survivors of Genocide Participate in the Upcoming Khmer Rouge Trials

by Nerve Macaspac — March 16, 2011 Produced by Nerve Macaspac Rotary Peace Fellow 2009-2011 Group in Asian Studies University of California Berkeley On February 26, 2011, the Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA) explains to a number of Cambodian-American survivors of genocide in San Jose, California the nature of the upcoming trials of the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge regime and the importance of the participation of the victims to the trials. Along with the Applied Social Research Institute of Cambodia (ASRIC), a non-profit organization led by medical sociologist Dr. Leakhena Nou, CJA will be holding similar forums in Long Beach, California and in Lowell, Massachusetts. We the people of West Papua still living on Papuan soil, who continue to suffer, ask that the same protection can be granted to us.
