In late April 2007, two Save Happy Valley activists locked on to train tracks in Christchurch to stop a coal train from reaching Lytellton Port. After several hours, they were removed and arrested, and a third activist was also arrested and charged with "communicating with a prisoner". In October 2005, the New Zealand Defence Industry Association held a weapons conference at Te Papa, the national museum. Several days of protests were held against this conference, with the biggest being on the opening day. The Aotearoa Revolutionary Clown Army and friends took on the police and the army, resulting in 21 arrests. Read more…
