Refugee Solidarity Tour - Woomera

September 2001. A trip is made in solidarity with asylum seekers in the Woomera detention centre. During the visit riot police attack the refugees with water cannons, tear gas and batons for over 20 minutes. In a David vs Golliath situation some refugees throw stones at the forces of order. Industrial Relations Rally - June 2005
Over 100,000 people rallied in the heart of Melbourne, Australia on June 30 against the Federal Government's proposed industrial relations reforms. Workers, community groups and many, many more marched in opposition to the neo-liberal agenda of the Liberal government about to be amped up with the passing of control of the upper house to the conservatives. Sunday afternoon a group of 50 demonstrators were beaten and trampled by police during a peaceful anti-G20 protest inside the foyer of the Melbourne museum. A woman was severely injured after police used batons and fists to disperse the small group of singing, dancing demonstrators.
