Join us for a huge 24 hours of action across the globe, in almost 20 countries and 15 cities and towns across Australia, to speak out for the protection of Tasmania's high conservation value forests.
Following a landmark agreement between the logging industry and major environmental NGOs, real protection for Tasmania’s High Conservation Value forests (HCV) looks closer than ever.
However, to date, nothing has changed. Across Tasmania, spectacular ancient forests are still being destroyed and sent to the woodchipper. Some of Tasmania’s biggest logging-industry players have supported a moratorium on HCV forests as an integral part of the agreement. But, as the weeks pass, new roads are still being cut into prime areas of untouched forest and irreplaceable HCV forest is being lost. It is crucial that these areas are protected from last-minute logging to maintain their ecological integrity.
TASMANIA CAN’T WAIT TO HAVE ITS FORESTS PROTECTED!
