HONF therefore launch an open call to international artists who have interest in limitless creations of artistic video projects through collaborative working process. HONF invites any artist without any concern of artist’ disciplinal backgrounds or experiences. YIVF#04 – Out of It! is looking for a diverse opinions and perspectives in art production using community – based working method that have been used in personal, groups and institutions in Yogyakarta. HONF embrace interdisciplinary collaboration and values every discipline as an important factor in the enrichment of limitless art
production/learning process.

YIVF#04 – Out of It! will consist of three main programs.
1. HONF will facilitate up to 4 international residency artists to collaborate with up to 2 local
artists and HONF artists. The program will be held in 25 November -10 December 2008,
before the main program of YIVF#04 – Out of It!
2. The main program for YIVF#04 will be held at 11-15 December 2008. HONF will facilitate the
collaborative working process between participants, residency artists and HONF members.
The projects, venues and times of the collaboration are dependable and decided by the
artists themselves. Artist will be given the chance to make cultural visits in Yogyakarta and
also a chance to give a presentation about themselves in an official public presentation of
YIVF#04. This main program is open for any artists who have interests in a collaborative
working process through community – based activities. A final public group presentation its’
forms, venues and modules in public spaces will be decided by the group itself and will be
held just before the closing ceremony of YIVF#04 – Out of It!
3. Post event residency will be opened for 4 international artists to explore the modern and
traditional culture of Yogyakarta. Post event residency also invites artists’ respond to the
public in a series of workshops with several schools, children and creative communities. The
self-directed residency will focus on relevant educative artistic activities. The residency
program will be held from 17 December 2008 up to 16 January 2009.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Accommodation (home stay sharing) as well as meals (twice a day) for the duration of the
main program will be covered by HONF. HONF will only provide residency artists with home
stay accommodation.
2. Participants will manage to get their own funding for the costs of travel to Yogyakarta,
Indonesia as well as related expenses. HONF will provide guidance and helpful information
regarding participants’ travel to Yogyakarta. HONF will pick up all participants at Adi
Sucipto International Airport.
3. The organizer will provide transportation for related participants to the venues according to
the festival projects.
4. During research activities, participants may use any equipment that will be provided by
HONF. The quantity of the equipment is limited and should be shared with other
participants.
5. (Optional collaboration) For electronic music performance and visual performance,
participants must bring their own equipments. If there are equipments that cannot be
brought, participants must fill their technical requirements and will be notify whether the
equipments are available or not by HONF.
6. Participants must submit their arrival and departure date to HONF 2 weeks before the
festival start. If the participant failed to submit, HONF will not be responsible for
participant’s involvement in the pre publication (posters, flyers, web banner, etc.) of the
festival.
DEADLINE
YIVF#04 – Out of It! will accept submissions until 15 November 2008. Please provide us with the
following things:
1. Your CV with updated bio (max 10 lines)
2. Documentation of past projects (max 5MB)
3. Motivation Letter
4. Artistic Statement on Technology and Public (500 words)
5. Your Recent Photo (300 DPI JPEG)
