Let's Be An Activist! - A Collection of Human Rights Stories in Malaysia
In this video, some ordinary folks share their transforing experience of Human Rights. This is only the introduction segment to three extraordinary sharings of their respective experiences.
Through their sharings, it becomes evident that creative and popular approaches are integral to an empowering and effective experience of Human Rights education.
Series 1: Best-lah Punk - An interest in punk music leads these youths into a journey of discovery of what it means to champion the rights of others.
Series 2: Binatang Pun Perlu Tanah (Animals Need Land Too) - A stirring story of a group of indigenous community in Perak who fought against all odds for the rights to their ancestral land.
Series 3: No Damn Right! - The heroic account of a local MP (Member of Parliament) and his family when he was detained under the Internal Security Act in Malaysia.
