Full Description
Travis McCoy's Unbeaten Track features Staying Alive Ambassador and front-man of indie hip-hop group, Gym Class Heroes, Travis McCoy, as he embarks on a voyage of discovery to South Africa, Philippines and India to meet the young people who are on the frontline of the HIV epidemic, learning first hand, how HIV/AIDS affects their communities.
In South Africa, Travis visits a group that uses mobile and street theatre to educate young people on the multiple threats of HIV/AIDS. In Manila, he meets up with an ex-gang member who goes into schools and impoverished communities teaching sex education in a heavily Catholic country and in India, Travis learns how a young HIV+ widow has fought back against the stigma and discrimination in her society.
Upon his return, Travis writes a song inspired by all the emotions he felt and based on his journey. The song will be included in his upcoming album and all the proceeds from the track will go to fund similar Staying Alive Foundation HIV/AIDS projects around the world.
