In June 1999 there was a global Reclaim the Streets event and Sydney took part with over 1000 people gathering in Newtown to reclaim public space from the tyranny of roads, create a community space and give the pedestrian, skateboarder, bike rider and musician a chance. The band Insurge perfomed their new single "I hate Stupid People there" - this is the dance remix cut to the Reclaim the Streets footage.
