Site Updates and Upgrades
EngageMedia has been busy the last couple of months fixing lots of bugs, adding new features and upgrading to the latest version of Plone, the content management system our site runs on. We also moved to a bigger and faster server, making navigating and getting your video from the site a more pleasurable experience.
We've updated with new fixes and enhancements including:
- images now appear on news items on the front page
- display issues where the design was not showing correctly in Safari are now fixed
- The Kupu WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor is now the default editor, making it easier to format your postings
- we've added direct links to publish news and events on the initial logged in page, this should make these items easier to post
We've made a series of behind the scenes bug fixes you won't notice so readily and also upgraded from Plone 2.1 to 2.5. Geeks who want more information about changes and improvement in Plone 2.5 can check them out here

Additional features we are planning to implement over the coming few months include
- new content licensing features including Creative Commons 3.0 licenses and the ability to specify Public Domain or the GNU Free documentation license.
- automatic creation of a flash video version of your video and the ability to embed it in your blog , similar to YouTube
- automatic creation and seeding of your videos via BitTorrent
- tagging
- enhanced calendar functionality
In June we'll release the EngageMedia video platform as a package for others to take up and use. For more information visit our tech page
