Video Coverage of Tibetan Uprising

by andrewl — last modified 2008-03-21 20:47

The uprising in Tibet is highlighting the power and necessity of independent video and do-it-yourself news making. These images have mobilised people around the world to take action for an independent Tibet. We're compiled a list of places where you can find video coverage of the uprisings.

Whilst there is much independent media creation going on disturbingly it seems some large companies such as Yahoo! are actually working with the Chinese government to capture Tibetan dissidents. The front page of Yahoo! China carried images of people suspected of taking part in the uprising including providing a police phone number for informants to call. MSN (Microsoft) also carried the images.
