EngageMedia will be visiting West Sumatra, Kalimatan, and Sulawesi during August and September 2008. One of the main focuses of EngageMedia's work  is to help establish alternative network media in the Asia Pacific region. We are hoping to start dialogue around free culture, ie alternatives to copyright, and  free and open source software technologies for online video distribution, all of which will allow alternative, community-run network media to be established regionally.

The first workshop will be in Padang, West Sumatra, on the 28th August hosted by Belanak Community. The second workshop will be in Samarinda, Kalimatan on the 9th September hosted by 0808. The third workshop will be held in Makassar, South Sulawesi on the 16th September hosted by Kiri Depan Community.
