Digital Arts & Your Community The PiXelsQuared symposium will examine the state of play and possible future directions of digital media arts within sustainable community development in Australia. Speakers range from representatives of leading arts and community organisations to academics, community leaders and some of the country’s most exciting young independent artists. Each will showcase relevant work as well as discuss their own perspective on best practice for taking accessible digital media to Australia’s diverse communities.

Digital Arts & Your Community

The PiXelsQuared Symposium will examine the state of play and possible future directions of digital media arts within sustainable community development in Australia.

Speakers range from representatives of leading arts and community organisations to academics, community leaders and some of the country’s most exciting young independent artists. Each will showcase relevant work as well as discuss their own perspective on best practice for taking accessible digital media to Australia’s diverse communities.

Key focus areas include:
-Creating and maintaining meaningful community participation
-Cultural awareness and social entrepreneurship in a digital context
-Creating professional pathways
-The value of intermedia in strengthening community engagement
-Building sustainable community development

Members of the arts sector, community and social services sectors, media and creative industries are encouraged to attend. There will be opportunities for group workshops and discussion of your own work / organisation.

RSVP to the conference and tell us about yourself – if your digital creations fit the day’s charter, we’ll include your work as part of the symposium.
