Indonesia’s long-standing romance with the be-feathered species is deeply rooted in its people’s socio-economic and cultural existence. It is a thing of legends, source of income, object of amusement, at the core of traditional rituals and shrouded with mysticism and magic.
This video takes a closer look at these intimate yet varied connections between fowls and men to give insights on how to effectively reach potential Avian Influenza risk groups in and understand where they are coming from. The video is also part of FAO Indonesia's Media Partnership: Human Faces of Avian Influenza project in 2008.
