Protest kicks off day 3 of Cop15
Two small, but colourful protests greeted delegates at the Bella Centre for the official Cop15 talks this morning.
Both groups were calling for a fair deal for developing nations in tackling climate change.
The People's Movement against Climate Change demonstrated for a "People's Agreement" as an alternative to an UN-backed treaty to replace the Kyoto protocol.
Protesters representing indigenous communities around the world chanted for global action on climate change based on their own spiritual and sustainable methods.
Co-ordinator of the Asia Pacific Youth Network, Jennifer Awingan, argued indigenous peoples have generally not been responsible for damaging the environment, yet are often most vulnurable to its effects.
Meanwhile the fresh-faced self-declared "climate debt agents" called for rich nations to pay their debts to vulnurable developing nations though a substantial climate change fund.
The ActionAid protesters chanted and posed in red suits and matching glasses called for wealthy nations to offer US$20 billion to low lying developing countries to help tackle climate change.
