People from Sungai Utik, a village in Kalimantan, Indonesia discuss their observations of recent changes in their natural environment. Changes in rainfall and weather patterns are impacting on their ability to farm and hunt, and altering rainforest life.
This film was shot in September 2009 over a two day period. It opens with a voice over with a brief description of the village, and then cuts to a short interview where Sati explains village life in Sungai Utik. After another brief voiceover introducing the issue of climate change we cross to an interview with long house leader Apa Jangut who explains how seasonal patterns have changed. Natting explains changes to fish and wild animal patterns and then we return to Apa Jangut, talking about what he thinks is necessary to deal with the problem - everyone sitting down to discuss the issue, and resolving to look after this world better.
