Full Description

Scene 1

Day time

Bulan means Moon in english, it is one among the words that unify both me and my wife. My wife belongs to the Ilokano speaking people and I am Waray, we came from two different languages that is inherent to the diverse Austronesian people of Southeast asia and the Pacific.

Bulan signifies our culturally shared experience. And besides that, Bulan is beautiful most especially when it is bright and full. We are both inlove with the Moon.

In the oral tradition of Batek Negritos, a group of nomadic tribe in Borneo, Bulan is the epitome of comfort and harmony. This is told in their story/cerita:

Scene 2

Night time.

Once upon a time, Bulan was married to a Pole Star. They have lived together for quite a time until the biggest star in the solar system named Araw fell inlove with Bulan.

During their few meetings, Bulan and Araw decided to have an affair.

In the course of their affair Bulan found out that Araw is ill-tempered, noisy and always whining. He didn't liked her attitude and left Araw. But it was too late already because the Pole Star had knew their affair and went far away from Bulan for she was hurt. Bulan was nowhere to go and felt sorry about what he has done. Until then, Bulan have chosen to live alone.

But Araw keep chasing Bulan and he kept chasing away from her. The eternal chasing scene thus became Night and Day.
