"I created SECOND LIFE as a tool to fight against Stigma and Discrimination in India"
"After witnessing the most powerful discrimination against People Living with HIV/AIDS in India, I started shooting this documentary film in Mumbai in 2004. I was amazed to see how patients could rebuild their lives with resilience and hard work after undergoing such painful experiences. I could not resist the temptation to carry my camera and use it for their benefit. It was the best tool to empower PLWHAs to break the silence. This was the beginning of "SECOND LIFE". It was not an easy task shooting with strict confidentiality, encountering a lot of difficulties and following up with the stories right through the last 2 years. It was a beautiful experience sharing and living with them during these sessions. Even as a Doctor, I never had the honor and privilege to be with my patients with such intimacy and love like in “SECOND LIFE".
