Full description

The first Peace Convergence at Shoalwater Bay Military Training Area in QLD was held in 2005.  The joint US-Australia war games saw over 30,000 troops, numerous miliatry vehicles, tanks and nuclear-powered warships practicing for war in this rare coastal ecosystem and in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.  A group of 50 peace advocates from around Australia stood to oppose them.  This is what happened.

Since then Peace Convergences are organised biannually.  In 2007 over 1000 peaceful protestors attended.
