Yang Bertanah Air, Tak Bertanah put forwards eyewitness stories of former members of LEKRA (Lembaga Kebudayaan Rakyat / People's Cultural Organisation) on their revolutionary movement, as a continuation on the unfinished Indonesian revolution of 1945. The folk-based cultural organization was founded on August 17, 1950, and ended because of oppressive military action in 1965.

Anantaguna, member of central LEKRA; Mia Bustam, Leader of LEKRA Yogyakarta; and Amrus Natalysa, Misbach Thamrin, and Djoko Pekik from Bumi Tarung, a LEKRA-run art center.
