In 2007, there have been many reports on evictions in Salatiga and some people were even injured in the incidents with officers. One of the victims is Ibu Ngatini, who used to sell bags and imitated leather belts in Sudirman street. In regards to this, a media campaign is made by the community in collaboration with a local NGO in Salatiga LSKAR (Lembaga Studi Kesetaraan Aksi dan Refleksi). The goal of the campaign is to re-strengthen the street vendors community in Salatiga and raise actions against violence by government.
