Baxter 2003
Baxter Detention centre is located 12km from Port Augusta in South Australia. It is the Australian government's latest initiative in detaining asylum seekers and refugees without charge or trial. Over Easter 2003 people from around Australia coverged on the centre to highlight the injustices against detainees and to let them know that not all Australians support the Federal government's policy of mandatory detention. State of Emergency
In May 2004 over 500 people attended a conference for four days in a reclaimed warehouse in inner city Melbourne. State of Emergency was a series of workshops, forums, parties and film screenings that attempted to come to grips with the new forms of state power, war and neo-liberalism that pervade everyday life. Surviving in an Asian Megacity
With a population of over 10 million, Indonesia's capital Jakarta is one of Asia's mega-cities. Like similar cities, there is increasing tension between an expanding elite population and a growing urban poor. The mayor of Jakarta has a solution to this problem - evict the urban poor. Kia Tupato
Kia Tupato (Be Careful) features the late Sir John Turei as he presents Maori views on Genetic Modification with reference to the land and the teaching of his Grandparents. Sir John was considered a bridge between the cultures of Maori and non-Maori in New Zealand, and received many honours from the Government including a Knighthood. Aboriginal Tent Embassy
On January 2002, while the Aboriginial Tent Embassy celebrated its 30th anniverary, Aboriginal Elders led an action to reclaim the sacred totems of the Kangaroo and Emu from the Australian Coat of Arms. Ceremonies were then held to celebrate its return to Aboriginal peoples, and the coat of arms placed on public display in front of the ceremonial fire. Read more…

A demonstration was held over the weekend of October 5-7, 2002 at the gates of the US war base at Pine Gap near Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
