"Due to the campaign by Federal ALP politician Martin Ferguson to force a radioactive waste dump on communities in northern Australia we feel compelled to visit his office on a regular basis to remind him that his constituents do not appreciate what he is up to." - from the Friends of the Earth website.

Full Description

NO MARTIN - WE CAN'T DIG OUR WAY OUT OF CLIMATE CHANGE !!
NO NUKES! NO SUCH THING AS CLEAN COAL!
LOADS MORE RENEWABLE ENERGY!

Protest at Martin Ferguson's office:

159 High St, Preston
Friday February 27
8.30am til 10am

He might be the Member for Batman but he's no Superhero!

More info: The Ferguson Files: <www.foe.org.au/anti-nuclear/issues/oz>

...................

As on a previous visit, the office was locked down in honour of the protest - though no-one actually came to visit Mr Ferguson during that time anyway (except the postie, who was escorted to the door by a police officer) - and there was a strong police presence.  The video aims to give some of the flavour of the occasion.

An Introduction to ACE -

Friends of the Earth's Anti-Nuclear and Clean Energy (ACE) campaign has been going strong for over 35 years. We campaign against the nuclear industry because of its appalling treatment of indigenous people, its repeated contribution to WMD proliferation, and its long-term environmental impacts. And we campaign to promote clean energy solutions to climate change.

Contact: Jim 0417 318368, Mia 0415 380808

Regular ACE meetings are held each Wednesday, 6.30pm in the FoE office - come along!
