The Voices of Transition project aims to gather as many voices from the public as possible, in the next decade, in support for a Transition Decade (T10) for safe climate futures.
With climate change now a crisis issue, we need as many voices as possible to declare the need for systemic change to ensure both climate change justice and climate change mitigation.
Part of the challenge we face is the reticence by many well meaning people in the community to publicly voice their commitment and concern regarding the issue of climate change. Such reticence is conveniently interpreted by political, economic and cultural institutions as somehow reflecting a timidity or lackluster enthusiasm for dramatic change.
This project aims to help raise the volume and urgency of the public discourse by providing a diversity of people a platform to declare their support for a Transition Decade and more broadly for changes to ensure sustainable futures. Each declaration from each person aims to be no longer than one minute and can be as short as 15 seconds.
The public, you and your friends and family, are invited to join in this project, by documenting 'Voices of Transition' in your area.
