Full Description
This five-minute trailer is a short preview of a documentary film: MENTAWAI TATTOO REVIVAL - a collaboration project of Aman Durga Sipaniti (Indonesian Tattooist who is based and working in Jakarta) with Rahung Nasution (Indonesian freelance video-maker, tattoo freak and enthusiast).
We are still working on this documentary movie as part of the tattoo project which focuses on traditional tattoos and the tattooing culture in Mentawai tribe in Indonesia. Other focuses include the Mentawai Shamanism and the vanishing of the "Arat Sabulungan" - original religion of Mentawai tribe which have been eliminated by oppressions in the name of assimilation, civilization and politics by Indonesian governments and the so-called 'modern' religions in Indonesia.
