Full Description

Tasmania is signatory to the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, but chooses to be selective in following them.  There is little monitoring of waterways throughout the state as massive quantities of chemical cocktails, unquantified and unlisted, are sprayed over the industrial plantations.  Chemicals like Atrazine make their way into the waterways.  Atrazine is a herbicide that is a known hormone disruptor, causing infertility in animals and in people as well as cancers, autoimmune diseases and so on.  Australia allows Atrazine at 8 times the allowable level in the US, and even in the US the levels are well beyond what it takes to make a male frog an hermaphrodite.  One slide here shows the testes of a male frog bursting with eggs.  We need to change our tune from "Clean, Green Tasmania".
