National Indigenous Television Program Proposals
National Indigenous Television (NITV), are seeking submissions and program proposals for their 24-hour channel. As Australia’s first National Indigenous channel, NITV serves to represent Indigenous culture and is committed to showcasing a diverse range of programming.
National Indigenous Television (NITV) was created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in an effort to promote Indigenous culture. As Australia’s first National Indigenous channel, it serves to educate, inform and entertain these communities as well as all Australian and International viewers.
NITV began broadcasting to Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea in 2007 and is available through Foxtel. It is also accessible to regional communities via various transmission services with the aim of including remote areas in the media.
The network is committed to screening locally produced content and providing employment in the media sector to Indigenous groups. There is a diverse range of programming featured on the channel, and submission and program proposals are always welcomed. Opportunities to create content amongst the following programming sectors exist:
