Ayo Pilih Filmmu Sendiri Jika kamu pengguna bahan-bahan tambang – macam perhiasan emas, logam timah dalam handphonemu, logam mangan dalam mobilmu, batubara dan migas untuk listrikmu. Maka, JATAM ingin mengajakmu mengetahui darimana dan bagaimana bahan-bahan tambang itu didapatkan. Untuk itu, JATAM telah mengumpulkan 20 film tentang pertambangan dan lingkungan dari 9 negara, yang akan diputar Gratis hari Minggu, 2 Mei 2010. Hari itu, JATAM juga menyelenggarakan Konsultasi Publik untuk mendapatkan masukanmu tentang solusi masalah-masalah seputar pertambangan, lingkungan dan perubahan iklim. Tapi kamulah yang menentukan film mana yang akan diputar. Caranya? Pilih Film sejak 15 – 27 April 2010.

Choose your own movie now... Every day, you use goods that come from mines - gold in your jewelry, tin in your handphone, manganese in your car, and coal, oil and gas for electricity. Mining Advocacy Network/JATAM wants to take out to the mines so you'll know where and how those materials were mined. JATAM has collected 20 movies about mining and the environment from nine countries, which will be screened for free on Sunday, May 2, 2010. The same day, JATAM will also held a Public Consultation to get your input about the issues surrounding mining, the environment and climate change. But YOU will determine which films will be screened. Select films from 15 to 27 April 2010.

Indrani Kopal from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, describes herself as a full-time video journalist in Malaysiakini.tv where she learned the importance of using media in a more meaningful approach. She currently works as a multi-media producer for Malaysiakini, an independent, on-line news media organization. Since 2006 she has produced dozens of short documentaries on various social issues, particularly on the plight of the Indian community in Malaysia. She values the fact that she is capable of persuading and convincing people to act upon the messages highlighted in her films. Her defining moment came when her short film, 'She's My Son', was selected for best short documentary in a local competition.
