Full Description

This film follows a social research project undertaken by researcher Natalie Grove and the team of young East Timorese adults she pulled together, known as Youth In Action, which included people from the NGO PLAN and the local NGO East Timor Insight (ETIS.) A book, called Stepping Stones, was the result of months of research that included extensive interviews with youth in Dili, Los Palos, Aileu, and national youth representatives at a conference in Dare. This film reflects the diversity of feeling, opinion, and action among youth in Timor-Leste- although it's pretty tame in the sense that the interviewees wouldn't name names... vis a vie the question on everybody's mind: "so who was paying those gangs of kids to throw stones and burn homes?"
