Memefest is a festival of radical communications which holds an annual competition for radical and innovative use of media. The regular competition has three main divisions open to students: Communications Studies, Sociology and Visual Arts. The "Beyond category" is not just open to students but any artist, activist, malcontent or media manipulator can enter.

The Sydney Underground Film Festival provides a platform for exhibition, exposure and critical discussion. The organisers are devoted to renewing local interest in alternative film as part of an international underground film culture.
