On September 16 and 17 2009 Greenpeace New Zealand and activists staged a massive action, blocking a shipment of palm kernel animal feed from Indonesia from entering Tauranga Port. The feed was destined for Fonterra dairy farms. They are calling on New Zealand PM John Key to halt imports of the product due to its impact on climate change and address intensive dairy farming in New Zealand.

Dirty Old Coal is a short film made to emphasize how the coal industry is fed to consumers like brands of breakfast cereal. Like going to the supermarket to buy our breakfast cereal the option of renewables isn't on plain view and offer like coal is and sometimes it seems as though that is all we can get when reaching for the shelf.

In June 1999 there was a global Reclaim the Streets event and Sydney took part with over 1000 people gathering in Newtown to reclaim public space from the tyranny of roads, create a community space and give the pedestrian, skateboarder, bike rider and musician a chance. The band Insurge perfomed their new single "I hate Stupid People there" - this is the dance remix cut to the Reclaim the Streets footage.

Music video of John Butler in the Styx Valley, Tasmania. Many people have visited the Styx Valley in Tasmania during the battle to save the old growth forest and the giant trees aged hundreds of years from logging multinationals such as Gunns Ltd who clear fell these areas for pulp. The singer/songwriter John Butler performed up a tree sit 85metres up during a time when volunteers, The Wilderness Society and Greenpeace occupied the area and many lived up on the tree sit maintaining it for five months.

EngageMedia held a successful skills building session in Kampung Halaman Jogkarta on the 22-24 June. Participants shared their skills in online video distribution. As part of our Asia Network program, EngageMedia is delivers a number of 'Skills Building Partnerships' to activist and community groups in Asia-Pacific to assist them in distributing their videos.

Pacific climate change activists and ambassadors began meetings on Sunday 21 June in the lead up to the Pacific Island Forum (PIF) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Copenhagen later on in the year. The meetings began in Cook Islands and will continue on for a month throughout the Pacific also documenting climate change in places such as Samoa and Vanuatu. Leaders on climate change will be meeting with the global NGO Greenpeace and other travellers aboard the Esperanza such as Oscar nominated star of Whale Rider, Keisha Castle-Hughes.

Environmental activists are still struggling in a legal battle against the timber giant Gunns that has been going on over four years now. Gunns have been been suing the remaining 14 activists from the original 20 over their anti-logging protests citing their activities as damaging to the company
