One Nation Under Lee is a documentary about Lee Kuan Yew and how he iron-fistedly subjugated an entire nation in the guise of democracy. It has been 'unofficially banned' in Singapore.

Two Singapore activists, Seelan Palay and Chong Kai Xiong were arrested by the police for protesting against the denial of work permits to Burmese nationals who had taken part in protests in Singapore against the military regime in Burma.

Joshua Benjamin Jeyaretnam (January 5, 1926 - September 30, 2008); more commonly known as "J.B. Jeyaretnam" or "J.B.J.") was the foremost Singaporean opposition politician. He was the first opposition party candidate to be elected a Member of Parliament (MP) in Singapore, 16 years after the country gained independence.

A video made by Mr Seelan Palay about the dictatorial control of Singapore has attracted wide viewership on the Internet. Entitled One Nation Under Lee, the 40-minute film also features interviews with the late J B Jeyaretnam and former solicitor-general Mr Francis Seow.

Singapore passed an amended law on Monday to ease an 11-year-old ban on films that promote a politician or political party, but the amendments also introduce restrictions on dramatized political videos. Martyn See, a Singaporean film-maker who had two films banned by authorities because of their political content, called the law "regressive."

On the 5th of July, International Day of Action Against the G8. In solidarity with the planned mass demonstration in Sapporo and anti-G8 activists worldwide, Singaporean activists held a brief protest outside the Japanese Embassy in Singapore.
