International
UK born Chinmaya Dunster has been playing sarod since 1984. He was invited by Sir Paul McCartney to play at his wedding to Heather Mills in Ireland in 2002 and formed the “Celtic Ragas Band” especially for this occasion. The band includes both Indian and foreign members from all over the world. In 2004 they played a multimedia concert at the Bhartiya Vidyapeeth Institute of Environmental Education and Research, Pune and this lead to the live CD on New Earth Records ‘Fragrance of the East’ as well as Chinmaya's first film, “Concert for India's Environment” (available for free download at www.fragranceoftheeast.org). Chinmaya Dunster is a great lover of the Indian wilderness and its peoples and is deeply concerned about the development pressures on them. “I hope to be able to give as much back to India, my adopted country, as it has given to me these thirty years!”, he says. His short films on India's environmental and social justice issues are widely distributed on the web. Author's home page in this site…
