Mien.ly is a full time activist, feminist, filmmaker. She believes that filmmaking is at once personal and political. She has organized Freedom Film Fest- a human right film fest in Malaysia, gassed while videoing public rallies and detained by police for handing memo in the parliament. Her film ‘My Confession- the picture diary’ has traveled to India, Philippines and Berlin. She is also involved with filmmakersanonymous.blogspot.com, katagender.blogspot.com and freedomfilmfest.komas.org.

Aini lives with her mum in an urban poor village in the city. Her mum works in a factory that packaged mineral water bottles. In this place and time, water has been privatized and cost too much for them to afford it, so her mother takes the water from the well, in hope of having some savings for Aini to buy a computer. One day, her mother falls ill and Aini rush off to buy her clean water. She realized she doesn't have enough money to buy the water, then Joshua came.

As Davina does her laundry, she was confronted with Iyem, her neighbor's domestic worker from Indonesia. Iyem began to share stories behind closed door to her. Davina now have to figure out what she would do with these stories.

After 50 (or is it 44?) years of being together, as a team; there are still many things that perplexes us about each other in Malaysia. From gender to religion, it is never really just about race with us. But the point is (if there ever should be a point), does it matter?

Living in Kuala Lumpur, I have been often told by powers that be that there is only one story. I asked the singers-songwriters, and they sang to me about the many different stories, different identities and the different voices that filled this complex and colorful city.
