Presentations
A one hour presentation on the EngageMedia Collective Inc.'s work in the four main areas of content gathering and distribution, network facilitation, training of videomakers in online tools, and development of a FOSS video-sharing web application. Also covers what you can do on the EngageMedia.org website, a look at Free and Open Source Software and Open Content Creative Commons licenses, and an example of how we work with activist communities to help distribute media. Finally there are some links to further information about the Transmission network of online video projects for social change.
A workshop on online video for videomakers which we prepared while conducting trainings in Indonesia during 2008 is available in English and Bahasa below. A lengthy workshop on Free and Open Source Software for Media Makers originally prepared for a workshop at the Media Resource Centre is available below. It is an Open Office presentation document outlining the use of FOSS by media makers, in pre-production, production, post-production and distribution, with a background on the principles of FOSS and the definitions of free software, open source and proprietary software.
