The Audio and Video edition of NGO-in-a-box is a toolkit of Free and Open Source Software documentation and tutorials for NGOs, non-profits and media activists. Produced by Tactical Tech in collaboration with EngageMedia the box aims to lower the entry-level for NGOs and individuals wanting to use audio and video for social change.
The Audio/Video box is an introduction to the world of open source and the new technologies and techniques that are transforming the balance of forces in the realm of media production. The AV edition of NGO-in-a-box sits within a trajectory of citizen journalism and advocacy work and is a toolkit for DIY media makers to find their voice.
The Audio/Video box includes tools for editing and encoding, streaming, podcasting, micro-transmitting and a host of associated documentation, tutorials and guides. The tools included in the box are selected by an editorial team of experts in the field.
The box was launched at the iCommons Summit in Rio. You can check out the audio/video edition at av.ngoinabox.org and find more information about the project series at ngoinabox.org.
