EngageMedia (EM) will be honoured to receive the Global Social Change Film Festival Innovator Award. The award will be presented at the Global Social Change Film Festival in Ubud, Bali, April 13 to 17, 2011. EM will also be partnering with the festival which will bring talents from all over the world together to talk, produce and promote social change films.
Prof Z is at it again, thanks to her, we are connected with Cynthia Phillips, Director of the Global Social Change Film Festival and Institute, and we are now the official partner of the Festival and scheduled to receive the Festival’s first Innovator Award.
We are still discussing with the Festival’s organisers on EM’s role and workshops, but it is definitely the beginning of a wonderful and fruitful friendship under the common belief of the global social change.
The Festival itself will be held in Ubud, Bali, from April 13 to 17, 2011. It will bring in filmmakers, individuals interested in global social change film & media, social activists, storytellers & writers, film enthusiasts and world travellers.
The Institute will also support filmmakers and activists in creating inspired film & media, reaching a wide audience and motivating social action. The inaugural focus will be Global Women and Film, featuring the likes of Indonesian filmmaker Nia Dinata, and her film At Stake which you can view on EM here.
