Cinemata is once again teaming up with the Far Eastern University Department of Communication (FEU DepComm) to bring TAM DokyuFest online for its third year running. From May 19 to 28, 2025, audiences can stream this year’s lineup for free on Cinemata.

A celebration of documentary storytelling by emerging Filipino filmmakers, TAM DokyuFest 2025 features 16 short films by Communication students from FEU’s Documentary Production classes. The festival is a platform for stories grounded in personal truths, social realities, and creative expression—amplifying voices we often don’t see in mainstream media.

This year’s theme: ‘Iba’t Ibang Mukha ng Katotohanan’ (Different Faces of Truth)

What is truth? This year’s theme embraces the idea that truth is not always singular nor absolute. These documentaries reveal how memory, emotion, ideology, and experience shape how we see the world—and how stories can carry different but equally valid truths.

Truth. Advocacy. Media.

More than a film festival, TAM DokyuFest is rooted in advocacy. The name itself, TAM, stands for Truth, Advocacy, and Media, underscoring the FEU Department of Communication’s commitment to socially engaged storytelling.

Guided by the mantra “May alam, may pakialam” (to know is to care), the students behind these films aim to awaken minds, stir emotions, and shape social consciousness. Through the medium of documentary, they advocate for stories that matter.

About Cinemata Visions

The online screening of TAM DokyuFest 2025, in partnership with the FEU Department of Communication, is part of Cinemata Visions, an initiative that spotlights notable works from film schools and learning institutions dedicated to cinema in the Asia-Pacific. Cinemata Visions highlights video endeavours such as workshops and competitions initiated by advocacy groups dedicated to the youth. It aims to harness creative film outputs and encourage young filmmakers to produce more social issue works by providing a free, independent, and secure video hosting platform beyond the usual corporate platforms.

EngageMedia developed Cinemata to support film initiatives like TAM DokyuFest in highlighting essential yet underheard stories and inspiring collective action among Asia-Pacific audiences.
