This short documentary film depicts AJAR’s work in reuniting a group of Timorese ‘stolen’ children (now adults) with their families.
An estimated four thousand Timorese children were forcibly taken away from their families from Timor-Leste and brought to Indonesia during the conflict of 1975-1999. Decades later, many families in Timor-Leste continue to search for their missing children. This short documentary film produced by Indonesian Human Rights Group Asia Justice And Rights (AJAR) depicts the work of reuniting a group of Timorese ‘stolen’ children (now adults) with their families.
AJAR documented the stories of 65 stolen children, 30 of whom have participated in reunion visits with their families in Timor- Leste. Read the policy paper "Long Journey Home" for more information.
