Promised Land (Tanah Terjanji)

The ex-workers from the Medingley, Sedgely, Prang Besar and Galoway estates (where Putra Jaya now stands) were evicted over 10 years ago. Since then, they have been living in low-cost flats provided by the government that claimed it was temporary housing for them.

They were promised low cost terrace house but that promise has yet to be realized. The condition of the flats has been worsening and it forced the residents to stay in tent outdoors. By the time is video was produced, they have been under living under tents for more than a month.

They have protested on their issue in 2010 and now they are repeating the same efforts. The Selangor Government has allocated 18 acres of land for the housing, but the residents have to still wait for the commitment of the Federal Government before they can relocate.
