Cyclone Nargis killed 140,000 people and left over 1 million more homeless in Burma on May 2nd 2008. One year later thousands of cyclone survivors are still struggling every day to meet their basic needs. Burma Campaign Sydney is hosting a candle light vigil to commemerate the anniversary.

One Year Anniversary of Burma's Cyclone Nargis

Candle Light Vigil

 

Over 2.4 million people in Burma were affected by Cyclone Nargis when it struck on May 2nd 2008.  140,000 were killed and over 1 million were left homeless.  One year after the storm, thousands of cyclone survivors are still struggling each day to have their basic needs met.

 

Come and show your support for the cyclone survivors and the people of Burma by joining the candle light vigil at Sydney's Town Hall at 5 pm on May 2nd.
