EngageMedia is a consortium partner of the Initiative for Media Freedom (IMF), a five-year program led by Internews that aims to support an independent and free press in order to counter disinformation, promote political inclusion, and enhance democratic governance in the Philippines.
Under this project, EngageMedia has conducted the following webinars to increase awareness on online disinformation, fact-checking, media freedom, and digital safety among civil society groups, youth formations, and academe:
- Disinformation Education and Advocacy Work in an Academic Setting
- Introduction to Digital Hygiene and Safely Doing Advocacy Work Online
- Philippine News and Social Media Situation
- Basics of Fact-checking
Other partners involved in IMF include the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication – Department of Journalism, National Union of Journalists of the Philippines, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, Peace and Conflict Journalism Network, VERA Files, Foundation for Media Alternatives, RIWI Corp., and Lyf Solutions, Inc.
